Like. A. Boss. HeartKids' Super Boss Day 2017

Media release

17 May2017

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s People’s Choice Credit Union’s Super Bosses!

On Friday 26 May, People’s Choice Credit Union’s Senior Leaders will once again transform into superheroes, including the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the crew from Toy Story, for HeartKids SA/NT’s Super Boss Day, and they’re shouting it from the rooftops as they leap from tall buildings in a single bound.

In the name of charity, 17 brave People’s Choice bosses will swap their corporate wear for tights, capes and masks, spending the work day as their favourite superhero characters to raise funds for the bravest superheroes of all – HeartKids.

Super Boss Day is an initiative for HeartKids where bosses dress as superheroes for a day to raise funds and awareness for children with heart disease and their families. In Australia, eight babies are born with heart disease every day. HeartKids provides support, encouragement and hope to families of children with childhood heart disease.

People’s Choice has been a corporate partner with HeartKids since 2012, as part of the credit union’s substantial corporate social responsibility program.

People’s Choice spokesperson and Super Boss, Stuart Symons, participated in Super Boss Day last year, and found the experience both fun and rewarding.

“I’m excited to get back into costume this year for such a great cause. This year, I’ll be The Flash, zooming around the office like lightning,” Mr Symons said.

“We had a lot of fun and raised around $15,000 last year. But with our superpowers combined, the People’s Choice Super Bosses hope to beat last year’s result, just like we’d beat a super-villain,” he said.

“Over the past five years People’s Choice has generated more than $300,000 through donations, in-kind support and fundraising to HeartKids in South Australia, the Northern Territory and Victoria through initiatives such as the People’s Choice Community Lottery and Super Boss Day, and we do it all for the kids.”
