People’s Choice, one of the country’s largest credit unions, has settled in for a long innings with the winner of last year’s Big Bash League championship, the Adelaide Strikers.
The two have agreed to a three-year deal that will see the winner of the Australian Credit Union of the Year partner with Adelaide’s own winning Big Bash team. People’s Choice will also sponsor the highly-successful women’s Strikers for the 2018/19 season.
People’s Choice Chief Executive Officer Steve Laidlaw said the match was an easy and respected win for both teams.
“This is an exciting partnership with another nationally-recognised organisation committed to building and representing its community on the national stage,” Mr Laidlaw said.
“We are really looking forward to sharing that journey throughout the coming season. You will see our lime-green and red logo on player’s kits, around the grounds and at community activities.
“This is an important and exciting partnership for People’s Choice. It gives us an opportunity to be seen nationally throughout the season and to connect with the growing Striker community. Like us, the Strikers are a growing brand in a very competitive environment and we want to see this partnership grow over the next three years.”
Adelaide Strikers’ General Manager, Bronwyn Klei, welcomed the return of People’s Choice as a major partner.
“People’s Choice were the Adelaide Strikers’ first major partner in the early days of the Big Bash League, so we are pleased to again join forces with them as we enter the next era of the expanded competition,” she said.
“It’s always great to work with a like-minded partner who is also focused on innovation, customer service and connection with community.”
Canstar recently named People’s Choice the best mutual financial institution for first home-buyers in South Australia, Victoria and the Northern Territory, and Roy Morgan named People’s Choice the best credit union across the country in its annual Customer Service Awards.
“We will continue to look for opportunities to grow our membership across the country so we can prove to more people that People’s Choice is about meeting member needs, not generating shareholder profits. This partnership with the Strikers gives us another avenue to do just that – with another organisation that is proud of its community and continually striving to be the best,” Mr Laidlaw said.
