People’s Choice Credit Union has taken out one of Australia’s most highly respected banking awards, being named Personal Lender of the Year in the 2018 Money Magazine/CANSTAR Consumer Finance Awards.
The award is based on a six-month assessment by CANSTAR of the features of a lender’s personal lending products and the competitiveness of its rates as part of a review of more than 15,000 products.
People’s Choice Chief Executive Officer Steve Laidlaw said being named Personal Lender of the Year was particularly pleasing in an extremely competitive banking environment.
“This award is not about offering the cheapest possible rate to get people through the door – it is about being competitive while meeting the needs of borrowers and providing outstanding service. It is therefore more than an award for lending; it is an award that recognises we are on the right track for our members,” Mr Laidlaw said.
“Since the award was assessed, we have also launched our Fast and Easy lending strategy to give borrowers even better service and more options, regardless of whether they are looking to pay for a car, a holiday or a renovation,” he said.
“This award is not our first as a personal lender, as we have received Mozo Experts Choice Awards for Car Loans for the past three years,” he said.
“However, to be named Australia’s best personal lender really highlights the strengths and values of People’s Choice as a genuine alternative to the major banks,” he said.
People’s Choice has previously been named the best Customer-Owned Institution for First Home Buyers in South Australia (2013, 2014, 2016, 2017), the Northern Territory (2013, 2014, 2017) and Victoria (2017). It also recently won six Mozo People’s Choice awards for its excellent levels of customer service, satisfaction and trust, and has been Roy Morgan’s Building Society/Credit Union of the Year for Customer Satisfaction in 2014, 2016 and 2017.
