People’s Choice winning in customer satisfaction

People’s Choice Credit Union has been named Building Society/Credit Union of the Year at this year’s Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction Awards – making it the third win in the past four years.

The awards are based on the results of surveys of more than 50,000 people, monitoring customer satisfaction with brands across most consumer products. This makes it one of the most comprehensive measurements of an organisation’s reputation with its members and customers.

Roy Morgan has named People’s Choice Credit Union as Building Society/Credit Union of the Year in 2014, 2016 and now in 2017. People’s Choice was also last year named the best customer-owned financial institution for first home buyers in South Australia, the Northern Territory and Victoria by Canstar, and received Mozo awards for Highly Trusted and Staff Friendliness.

People’s Choice Credit Union Chief Executive Officer Steve Laidlaw said the award was especially pleasing given the growing awareness of the importance of putting members and customers at the centre of everything you do.

“As a credit union, our sole purpose is to support our members and their financial needs. We do not have the shareholder/customer conflict like the major banks – our members are our shareholders. We focus on our members and put our profits back into member services,” Mr Laidlaw said.

“Awards like this provide independent acknowledgement that, despite an increasingly competitive market, we are succeeding at building trust and enduring relationships with our members,” he said.

Mr Laidlaw said the award recognised the hard work, passion and commitment of the credit union’s staff across the country, and the 360,000 members who continued to place their trust in People’s Choice.

“These awards really demonstrate the quality of what we offer as a credit union and the steps we have taken in recent years to better understand and meet our members’ needs,” he said.
