Internet Banking is becoming even more secure and more convenient, thanks to Secure Code Verification.

 

Secure Code Verification available in Internet Banking

People’s Choice Credit Union is committed to providing the highest standards of security so you can bank online with absolute peace of mind.

We’re introducing a new form of second factor authorisation called Secure Code Verification which is more secure and much more convenient than our current arrangement with personal icons.

Sound complicated? Don’t worry, Secure Code Verification is actually much simpler than having to remember those personal icons. You won’t miss them!

Here’s how it works: instead of entering your personal icons, Secure Code Verification sends a unique single-use code to your mobile phone or nominated landline telephone to authenticate certain types of Internet Banking transactions and functions. Just have your phone handy when online banking.

Important note: Secure Code Verification is currently only available to members with an Australian mobile and or landline, and can only be used with new Internet Banking.

To register, simply log in, select ‘Settings’ from the menu bar and ‘Secure Code Verification’ from the sub menu. From there follow the prompts, it’s quick and easy.

Follow these handy tips to get the best experience from Secure Code Verification:

  • Use only current Australian mobile and landline numbers that are your own private numbers (i.e. not shared) or that you have controlled access over. Please ensure the numbers provided are a direct line to you.
  • Make sure your contact numbers are registered with us and are up to date. To do this you can check them in Internet Banking, but to make any changes you will need to call 13 11 82 or visit a branch.
  • Provide all three contact numbers (Home, Work and Mobile) so you can continue to bank online, wherever you are. A mobile number is ideal, as it travels with you.
  • Do not use switchboard or fax numbers.
  • Protect your Secure Code like you would a password or a PIN and never give it to anyone else.
  • You will only need to enter it once during each Internet Banking session.
  • In the unlikely event that an unauthorised transaction does occur, and it is clear you have not contributed to the losses, People’s Choice Credit Union will refund the full amount.
