Phishing Email

Please be aware of an email scam that makes reference to PayID registrations.

The NPPA (New Payments Platform Australia) has advised that an email phishing campaign has been detected targeting PayID registrations and attempting to direct victims to a fake website. Current analysis is that these emails are being branded/targeted towards one of the Big 4 Bank brands.

NPPA have advised if customers receive such a communication it should be treated with caution and deleted immediately.

Please be aware of an email scam that makes reference to BPAY Payments. 

The email is a fake billing notice purporting to be from Telstra. Contained within the body of the email is a hyperlink titled “View your BPAY Payment Invoice” which is understood to be linked to malicious software (malware) which could lead to your device being compromised if clicked on.

BPAY have advised that BPAY Payments Invoices are never distributed via email – if customers receive such a communication it should be treated with caution and deleted immediately.
