People’s Choice Secure Code is an advanced online security solution delivered in partnership with global cyber security leader, Symantec.

How do you do your online banking

• I only use the People’s Choice Mobile Banking App - People’s Choice App is suitable for you.

• I only use a smartphone without using the People’s Choice Mobile Banking App - VIP Access App for Mobile is suitable for you.

• I only use my personal computer– VIP Access for Windows or Mac Computers is suitable for you.

• I don’t have access to a smartphone or personal computer - please call 13 11 82 or visit your nearest branch as our friendly staff will take you through the best option for you.

  2. SMS and Personal Icons do not assess that the user gaining access to Internet Banking and performing certain transactions is a legitimate member.

Secure Code is integrated into the People’s Choice App to deliver secure online banking for members who prefer to bank on-the-go.

Suitable for members who

- Use an Android or iOS Apple device

- Have the current version of the People’s Choice App (or can download)

- Have an Australian or overseas mobile number noted on their membership in Internet Banking

How it is used

Your App will generate a push notification asking you to ‘approve’ or ‘deny’ the transaction when prompted in Internet Banking. You can still access your 6 digit Secure Code in the App’s menu under ‘Secure Code’ without access to Wifi or mobile data.

How to download

1. For iPhone, go to the App Store
2. For Android, go to the Google Play Store
3. Search for People’s Choice Credit Union
4. Select 'install' or 'update'

What you need to do now

1. Ensure you have the latest version of the App.
2. Ensure you have the correct mobile number updated on your membership within Internet Banking
3. Have Push Notifications enabled

Remove

The VIP Access App for Mobile is for members who have a smartphone but are unable to use the People's Choice App.

Suitable for members who

- Are unable or do not like to use the People's Choice App for online banking.

- Use a smartphone or tablet

- Have an Australian or overseas mobile number noted on their membership in Internet Banking

-Share a smartphone or tablet (only one membership can be registered with the People's Choice App)

-Are travelling throughout Australia or overseas

How it is used

1. Go to your device’s relevant App Store (Google Play Store, Microsoft Store or the Apple Store)
2. Search for VIP Access from developer Symantec
3. Download

What you need to do now

1. Ensure you have downloaded the VIP Access App for Mobile
2. Ensure you have the correct mobile number updated on your membership within Internet Banking.
3. Make sure Push Notifications are enabled in your phone’s settings.

VIP Access for Windows and Mac Computers is for members who prefer to do their online banking on their personal computer, rather than a smartphone.

Suitable for members who

- Only use their personal computer to access Internet Banking.

- Do not use a smartphone for online banking.

How it is used

Your VIP Access icon on your personal computer will generate a 6 digit Secure Code when you click on it. You will need to provide a Secure Code only when prompted in Internet Banking.

How to download

1. Visit the Symantec website

2. Select the applicable option (Download for Windows or Download for Mac)

 

What you need to do now

1. Ensure you have VIP Access downloaded to your personal computer.
2. Ensure you have the correct mobile number updated on your membership within Internet Banking.

  • How does Secure Code Verification work?

    Select your preferred delivery method (SMS or a voice call to your Australian landline telephone) and you will receive the Secure Code within seconds. Entering the Secure Code into the ‘Secure Code’ field on your computer or mobile device will validate your sensitive function or transaction. 

    Once you have entered a Secure Code, you will not be prompted again within the same Internet Banking session.

  • What will change upon registration?

    Secure Code Verification delivers an even greater level of security than your Factor2 Icons, while allowing you to enjoy a more streamlined experience in Internet Banking.

    Once registered, you will notice some key changes:
    • You will be prompted at the confirmation stage of a transfer to a new external payee or BPay biller
    • You will not be prompted for a Secure Code for existing saved external payees or billers
    • Member to Member transfers will not require Secure Code Verification, even if to a new member

  • Is registration required if I want the Secure Code Verification service?

    Yes, Secure Code Verification is currently an optional service that requires registration. 

  • How do I register?

    You can register for Secure Code Verification through our new Internet Banking, by calling 13 11 82 or visiting your local branch.

    Please refer to our Internet Banking Guide for steps on how to register for Secure Code Verification. 

  • Is registration for Secure Code Verification compulsory?

    No, registration to Secure Code Verification is currently not compulsory and is an ‘opt in’ service.

    However, it is our preferred option as it provides our members with an enhanced level of security.

  • Does Secure Code Verification cost anything?

    No, there is no charge for the Secure Code Verification phone call or SMS.

    Please note, some mobile phone network providers may charge a fee when you are overseas and using global roaming.

  • When is Secure Code Verification required?

    Secure Code Verification is required when an activity in Internet Banking is considered more sensitive you will be prompted to request a Secure Code to complete the function.

    We recommend making it common practice to do your Internet Banking with your mobile phone handy, so that you can generate and enter a Secure Code when required.

  • How do I receive a Secure Code?

    You may choose to receive your Secure Code via an SMS text message delivered to your mobile phone or via voice call delivered to your nominated Australian landline telephone. 

  • How long does a Secure Code last?

    Secure Code will be valid for approximately five minutes and will apply only to the transaction for which it was generated. When the Secure Code expires, you may request another Secure Code. 

  • Why didn’t I receive my Secure Code?

    If you don’t receive your Secure Code, please check the phone numbers listed in the ‘Phone Numbers’ field when prompted to receive a Secure Code, to ensure your details are current. You can also check your details in Internet Banking under ‘Member Details ‘under the ‘Settings’ menu. If you need to make any changes, call 13 11 82 or visit a branch.

  • What happens to my Secure Code if I lose my mobile device?

    Call 13 11 82 to have your mobile number deregistered, particularly if you do not have a passcode protecting your mobile phone. You can also do this in branch. 

  • Can I use Secure Code when I’m overseas?

    Yes, a Secure Code can be sent to your Australian mobile phone number while overseas only if you have global roaming activated on your mobile phone.

    If you live outside Australia and do not have an Australian phone number, call +61 2 8299 9101 for assistance.

    If you know you are travelling overseas in the near future without access to an Australian phone number, please contact us on 13 11 82 or visit a branch to talk about what options are available to you.

  • How do I update my mobile or landline number in Internet Banking?

    To update your details, login to Internet Banking and select Settings > Member Details and follow the prompts.

  • Can I use more than one phone number to receive Secure Codes?

    You can only have one Secure Code sent to one device at a time, however you can have up to three phone numbers loaded into the system at one time to choose from. 

  • How many devices can be registered?

    Up to 5 devices can be registered per member; it is a good to have a back up smart device or download an Access App to a PC or laptop that can be used if your main device is not available.

  • Do I need the latest People's Choice App version to access People's Choice Secure Code?

    Yes, you will need to update your People's Choice Mobile App to access and use People's Choice Secure Code.  

    If you do not have an iOS or Android device you will be able to download the Symantec Access App that can be downloaded to a device (phone, tablet, PC) that is able to generate a Secure Code.

  • Is Wifi needed to use People's Choice Secure Code?

    If there is no access to data or Wifi, you can still access the Secure Code function.

    Full access to the People's Choice App and Secure Code can be used on Smart Devices when you have access to data or Wifi.

  • Can People's Choice Secure Code be used when travelling overseas?

    Yes, the People's Choice App and Secure Code can be used on Smart Devices if you have access to data or Wifi. If there is no access to data or Wifi, you can still access the Secure Code function.

  • How is People's Choice Secure Code accessed?

    People's Choice Secure Code will be available via:

    • People's Choice Mobile Banking App: Available for Android and iOS devices. The Secure Code will generate within the People's Choice App or via a Secure Code Push Notification to the App
    • Access App:  A Symantec App that can be downloaded to a device (phone, tablet, PC) that is able to generate a Secure Code

  • How does People's Choice Secure Code work?

    People's Choice Secure Code makes digital payments and access easier and quicker for you and allows you to transact where ever and whenever you choose.

    You may be prompted for a Secure Code lasting 30 seconds when you:

    • Update your contact information
    • Pay someone for the first time
    • Activate your card
    • Add a BPAY biller
    • At login when travelling
