In partnership with Symantec, a global leader in cyber safety, from Tuesday 4 April Personal Icons and SMS Verification will be replaced with a new advanced security solution – People’s Choice Secure Code.

How do you do your online banking?

There are different People’s Choice Secure Code options available, depending on how you do your online banking.

  • I only use the People’s Choice Mobile Banking App to do my online banking.

The People’s Choice Mobile Banking App is suitable for you!

  • I only use a Windows phone or my personal computer to do all my online banking.

The Access App is suitable for you as it can be downloaded to either a Windows phone or personal computer.

  • I don’t have access to a personal smartphone, windows phone or personal computer.

Why are we changing?

  1. We have an obligation to protect our members by keeping up to date with the most advanced security solutions.
  2. SMS and Personal Icons do not assess that the user gaining access to Internet Banking and performing certain transactions is a legitimate member.
  3. People’s Choice Secure Code will quickly and uniquely identify the mobile, tablet or computer being used for Internet Banking and will perform real-time analysis.

The People’s Choice App for Android and iPhone, designed to provide mobile banking that is fast and secure. People's Choice Secure Code is integrated in the App.

Suitable for members who

1. Use an Android or iOS Apple device
2. Have the current version of the People’s Choice App (or can download)
3. Have an Australian or overseas mobile number noted on their membership in Internet Banking

How it is used

People’s Choice Secure Code is integrated in the People’s Choice Mobile Banking App. A Secure Code Push Notification will be generated via the App to 'allow' or 'deny' certain function requests you are trying to perform. When you don't have access to data or Wifi you can obtain a 6 digit Secure Code from the App menu.

How to download

1. For iPhone, go to the App Store
2. For Android, go to the Google Play Store
3. Search for People’s Choice Credit Union
4. Select 'install' or 'update'

What you need to do now

1. Ensure you have the latest version of the App.
2. Ensure you have the correct mobile number updated on your membership within Internet Banking
3. Have Push Notifications enabled

The Symantec Access App can be downloaded to a Windows phone, PC or Mac to generate a Secure Code.

Suitable for members who

1. Are unable to use the People's Choice Mobile App
2. Use a Windows mobile phone
3. Only use a personal PC or Mac to access Internet Banking
4. Use a smartphone (for members who have 2 memberships as only one membership can be registered via the People's Choice Mobile App)

How it is used

When downloaded to a Windows Phone and registered as a secure device, the Access App can receive Secure Code Push Notifications to allow or deny certain function requests you are trying to perform. When downloaded to a PC or Mac and registered as a secure device, you will need to click on the Access App icon on your desktop and the Secure Code will display.

How to download

For Windows phone
1. Go to the Microsoft Store
2. Search for VIP Access

For PC or Mac
1. Visit the Symantec website
https://idprotect.vip.symantec.com/
2. Select the applicable option (Download for Windows or Download for Mac)

For Smartphone
1. For iPhone, go to the App Store
2. For Android, go to the Google Play Store
3. Search for VIP Access

What you need to do now

1. Ensure you have the Access App downloaded
2. Ensure you have the correct mobile number updated on your membership within Internet Banking.
3. Have Push Notifications enabled when using the windows phone App
