People’s Choice Credit Union has been announced as a new Platinum Partner of the Western Bulldogs at the AFL club’s season launch at the Crown Palladium in Melbourne.
“We’re looking forward to joining forces with another like-minded organisation that really cares for its people and members,” said Western Bulldogs’ CEO, Gary Kent.
“With People’s Choice recently named Building Society/Credit Union of the Year by Roy Morgan, it’s clear we share a common goal in striving to be at our best. We thank People’s Choice for the support and look forward to working with them in 2017,” Mr Kent said.
Among other advertising activity, People’s Choice’s distinctive lime green and red logo is soon to become a staple on the media backdrops of pre and post game interviews, and in the change rooms of the Bulldogs.
The multi-year partnership between Melbourne’s western suburbs AFL club and the Adelaide-headquartered credit union has been struck thanks to the two organisations’ common goals to expand their respective memberships in the key growth corridor of western Victoria.
As the first home loan financial services sponsor in the history of the club, People’s Choice’s brand personality and purposeful values are very compatible with that of the Bulldogs, according to People’s Choice’s CEO, Steve Laidlaw.
“This sponsorship is an exciting initiative for People’s Choice to support our national expansion. Along with the alignment in our growth strategies, both organisations have strong values and an unwavering commitment to the community,” Mr Laidlaw said.
“We see significant potential to increase our Victorian membership, so this new partnership is part of a broader marketing strategy to increase our profile through the significant reach of the AFL and also through the associated sponsorship of the Footscray VFL team,” he said.
The deal follows the recent expansion of People’s Choice’s home loan offering in Victoria. In addition to the nine branches throughout the state, a purpose-built Home Loan Centre is now delivering a more supported model for lenders and members in Cranbourne, and a growing fleet of Mobile Home Loan Advisers are on the road servicing the greater Melbourne area.
