The Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction Awards highlight the country’s best performers as measured by customer satisfaction – a true test of how well a business meets the needs of those it serves, People’s Choice Chief Executive Officer Steve Laidlaw said.
“More than 90% of credit union customers told Roy Morgan that they are satisfied with the service they receive, so to be named as the best in the country for the third year running gives us confidence that our focus on the needs of our members is the right approach,” he said.
“Of course, there has been a forensic examination of the banking industry over the past year with questions raised about how institutions meet consumer and community expectations. Being a credit union removes the friction that exists in the major banks between trying to serve customers while owing an overriding duty to shareholders. For us, they are one and the same – but we exist in a very competitive industry."

Canstar has named People’s Choice as the best customer-owned institution of the year for first home buyers in Victoria (last two years), South Australia (last five times awarded) and the Northern Territory (last four times awarded). Roy Morgan has named People’s Choice as the country’s best credit union in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
“This has only been possible because of the commitment of our members and our fantastic staff across the country. Thank you to them for setting such a high standard,” Mr Laidlaw said.
