What are my cover options?

  • Disablement due to illness or injury - up to $3,000 per month until you are able to return to work or the claim reaches its benefit limit being the lesser of 36 months or when the loan balance has been repaid. A waiting period of 28 days applies before a claim of disability can be made.
  • Involuntary unemployment - up to three (3) months in any consecutive twelve (12) month period. The maximum amount we will pay is $10,000 during the first five (5) years.
  • Life cover – the loan balance/credit limit as at the date of death or $500,000, whichever is lesser
  • Trauma cover (in the event of Trauma e.g. Heart Attack, Coronary Artery Surgery, Stroke, Major Organ Transplant, Chronic Kidney Failure, Cancer) – automatic cover of $10,000 which can be increased up to $50,000 depending on your loan amount.

  • How long does Mortgage Protection Plus policy cover me for?

    Mortgage Protection Plus is offered as a 12 month policy and prior to the anniversary date, a renewal will be offered, contingent on the insured continuing to meet the eligibility criteria.

    If your Mortgage Protection Plus policy is paid via instalments, your policy will continue following the renewal date unless the policy is cancelled.

    Mortgage Protection Plus is portable and can be transferred to another People’s Choice home loan if you are refinancing.

    Refer to the PDS for a full list of events that will end your cover early.

  • What options are available to pay the Mortgage Protection Plus premium?

    Premiums can be paid by:

    • Periodic instalments from your bank account or credit card
    • One annual payment by credit card or BPAY


    Your premium and how you’ve chosen to pay it is set out on your policy schedule.
